During the game, the heroes come into conflict with several supervillains, including the Court of Owls and Mr. Players assume the role of one of Batman’s allies – Dick Grayson / Nightwing, Barbara Gordon / Batgirl, Tim Drake / Robin, and Jason Todd / Red Hood – as they attempt to maintain his legacy by continuing to protect Gotham. Gotham Knights is set in Gotham City, years after the apparent death of Bruce Wayne / Batman and that of Police Commissioner James Gordon, which has resulted in a rise of crime and lawlessness.
